"The Eve," the movie I filmed in January and March of 2011, is getting close to release and has begun a campaign of a movie poster homage series in honor of classic horror thriller movies. You can check them out on the official THE EVE Web site or on the Facebook Fan Page. Four have been released so far: Homages to "Friday the 13th," "Poltergeist," "The Evil Dead," and just today, "Psycho." There will be at least one more homage poster, and an official poster for the film. Check them out when you get a chance, they are great fun, and much respect to Jeremy Bales, the photographer, and designers Taylor Armstrong and PJ Filippi for the posters!

Additionally, I wrapped filming for 3 episodes on a new show tentatively titled BCWS. I play a young detective in this comedy coming out of the one and only eBass Entertainment. I had a great time filming. Reunited with Brian Harnick, DP from The Eve, and was a pleasure working with director Jamund Washington, and the rest of the cast and crew. My co-star is Lindy Rogers and we had a blast filming this wacky comedy. The supporting cast and crew were amazing as well--Nick Fondulis, Jason Salmon, Nedra McClyde, Vin Kridakorn, Mike Roche, Andy Zou, Maralyn Jabour, Adam Fujita, Seth Kirschner, Michael Santora, and so so many more awesome people in front and behind the scenes.

I was at improv practice this past Monday and someone in the room commented on how he (or she, or more than one of them) was tired of Zombies being everywhere and how the "Whole zombie thing" has been entirely overdone. Now, being a Zombie enthusiast, or at the least thoroughly amused by Zombies, I took offense. Mainly I took offense because neither party whom complained about Zombies thought that Vampires were overdone at all. No, it was just Zombies, because, and I quote, "They've been around for soooo long" in pop culture and everything is Zombies. Regardless of me reminding said individuals that Buffy the Vampire Slayer had a long run on television, that Twilight (the books and movies) have been going on for eternity, or that even Werewolves are more in the mainstream media these days than Zombies (Lautner plays a Werewolf, who plays a Zombie? Nick Frost way back in the day?), these individuals only had it in for Zombies.

At that very moment, where I may or may not have gone into a diatribe on Zombies, I came to a brilliant movie/tv idea: Zombies versus Vampires. An all out battle. Who would win? Brilliance.

So tonight I did a Google search and came upon two things. First, an IMDB page for "Vampires vs Zombies," the movie, made in 2004. However, upon reading the review (see below), it was nowhere close to the brilliant battle I envisioned...

Furthermore, beyond the 1.7 out of 10 rating this film garnered, I noticed that though the poster said "Vampires vs Zombies" the title had changed...to "Carmilla, the Lesbian Vampire." Ye-ah, not my movie. I still had my dream, and this 2004 film was not anywhere close to it.

THEN, I came across an article about an NBC show bought with the title I had imagined. Oh shit. There goes my dream of coming up with this simple, yet brilliant plot. Zombies...versus...Vampires. BUT then I began to read on..."A 'fun buddy cop procedural'" because, you see, Zombies are an integrated part of society (WHAT?!!?) and then there's this cop who is secretly a Vampire (WHAT THE WHAT WHAT?!!?!!?). OKAY. WAIT! This show has a stupid idea. It should be all in the TITLE! Zombies versus Vampires. Boom! They battle. Not a buddy cop comedy where a Vampire makes silly neck flesh jokes at the expense of the Zombie school teacher. Read this thing below, then more from my mouth and fingers typing.

So here, I am laying it out first: ZOMBIES VERSUS VAMPIRES. Movie concept. Of course, the Zombies would win. Ask me, I could explain how. But BUT BUT maybe the twist is the Vampires have a secret weapon? Maybe the Zombies do have a weakness? Maybe the flight factor of Vampires turned into bats (if they can do that) give them a tactical advantage? Ooooh, there is a story here. All I'm sayng is this movie would be awesome. You can say you are tired of Zombies, but I'd say the whole fantastical thing is in, or should be out, or whatever you think of it, but then, let's see that final battle...Zombies Versus Vampires. And maybe a Werewolf jumps into the fight for the moment. But then gets thrown to the dogs. I don't know. You'll have to read the full pitch. Which, apparently, is entirely in my head.

Evan filmed The Eve through additional photography that finished in the end of April, working as Executive Producer and actor. Additionally, he performed a number of shows with his improv team, Ghost Fight, at the Players Theater and Roy Arias Studios.

This past week, B-Listed officially left post-production and will be premiering sometime in the near future. There are a couple of Web series projects in development that Evan is involved with, and will go into production during the summer.

Additionally, Evan completed work on Phase I of a theatre project with the ARTZ Foundation, in which he and Miranda Noelle Wilson worked with a team of Alzheimer's experts and wrote and performed two plays specifically designed for those dealing with Alzheimer's and dementia-related ailments. Through a number of performances in New York and Massachusetts, the plays were refined and performed for an audience at various stages of Alzheimer's. Evan will continue to work on this project, and will most likely be involved in writing and performing additional plays as part of future phases of this project. Hopefully coming to a city near you, in the not too distant future.

The summer burn is in NYC and Evan is back at the hustle. The Eve is moving along in post-production with its first two movie posters premiering online in the very near future. Evan was just cast in the first episode of a new Web series from SMAO Entertainment, filming in August, and he is currently working behind the scenes on a couple of new Web series which will be birthed from the loins of eBass Entertainment in the next few months. Additionally, B-Listed had its online premiere and you can catch it in the video section and at here. Evan plays Joe Hollinswood, a young Hollywood actor who falls from the graces and does not exactly know how to acclimate back into society. Oh, and he moves home to live with his brother in New Jersey while the dust settles. Hope you enjoy!

In January, The Martha's Vineyard Times stopped by filming of The Eve, which completed principal photography on location in Martha's Vineyard by the end of January 2011. Read the FULL STORY here.
